Steamview is situated in the picturesque Silverglades holiday complex on the outskirts of Aviemore in the Spey Valley. The town of Aviemore is well placed for access to the Cairngorm range of mountains, lying at the base of the 'ski road' nine miles from the Cairngorm car park. Cairngorm is a well known skiing center served by the new furnicular railway which replaces the open to all weathers chair lift so
you can now travel in relative comfort to the upper slopes and the visitor center at the top of the railway. The skiing is confined to the north and north east of the mountain leaving the
rest of the extensive range unspoilt for walkers. The area is unique in having four 4,000 foot mountains which themselves are separated into pairs by the magnificent pass of the Lairig Ghru, the gateway to Braemar. There are also eight Golf courses nearby. The town itself is well equipped with shops, restaurants and public houses with an expanding Supermarket and hiking/skiing equipment for sale or hire.
Steamview lies within easy walking distance of the village center in one direction and in the other direction is Dalfaber Leisure Center and Golf Club. The front of the bungalow looks out on a quiet cul-de-sac and a section of the Cairngorm mountains can be seen framed by the trees.
To the rear of the bungalow trains of the Strathspey Steam Railway pass within feet of the garden fence and there is a view to Craigellachie hill through the trees. This hill guards Aviemore from the west and there are impressive views of the Cairngorm range from its ridges and summit. Herds of red deer and roe deer can regularly be seen on the slopes.
For the comfort of our guests maximum occupancy is limited to four people. For the same reason we regret that we cannot cater for pets and smoking is not allowed.
